Award-winning Phoenix Barrier helps Fords of Winsford

Tuesday 17th August

Fords of Winsford are the UK`s largest independent family owned car supersite. When they approached us to find a solution to their aging road-blocker security check point, we suggested our Phoenix Rolling Barrier:

Considerably less expensive than a replacement road blocker, and much faster retracting than a sliding gate, it offers the security level required without restricting traffic flow. In fact the beam is designed to a height so that an Audi TT convertible will not fit underneath it! With our in-house designed controller unit we were able to integrate with Fords’ existing access control system including traffic lights. Fords can now relax in the knowledge that no vehicle can leave the site before being authorised to pass through this formidable barrier.

Securec installs speedgates at Capstan House, Canary Wharf.

Wednesday 11th August

Capstan House is a prestige office development in East India Dock. The building is a multi-tenanted building run by management company EID ltd. Previously, the reception was open plan, and during peak times staff were struggling to keep track of personnel and visitor flows, with obvious implications for security in such a high profile location. Securec supplied and installed 2 lanes of glass Speedgates with 2 DDA pass gates in the reception area. The gates use a proximity card access control system based on a PC server and workstation at the main reception, controlling both entry and exit. The system was delivered to schedule and budget in cooperation with our access control partner, J Durrance Ltd.
