Birmingham Car Park goes live

Wednesday 20th July

Securec has installed the very latest in networked Pay-on-Foot revenue systems at Eastside Multi-Storey Car Park, next to Millennium Point in central Birmingham. The system went live in June and is already relieving pressure on the adjacent Millennium Point and University of Birmingham car parks.

The site, owned by Birmingham City Council, is not a large car park, but it has multiple user types – general public, Millennium Point tenants, season ticket holders etc, each type with their own unique tariff structure and access rights. The Council also required a remote management capability at their central security hub. Securec’s Xparc system was chosen for its ability to meet all these requirements and more.

With our slimline paystations, we could install two per stairwell to reduce queuing at peak times. All system communications, including voice-over-IP intercom could be carried over the same Local Area Network which can be accessed remotely via secure broadband connection. This meant simpler and more cost-effective network installation.

The brand new sleek styling matches the modernist look of the car park and proves that car park equipment is no longer clunky and functional but a stylish compliment to the aesthetics of any project.
