Eastside Car Park, Birmingham

Securec has installed the very latest in networked Pay-on-Foot revenue systems at Eastside Multi-Storey Car Park, next to Millennium Point in central Birmingham. The system went live in June and is already relieving pressure on the adjacent Millennium Point and University of Birmingham car parks.

The site, owned by Birmingham City Council, is not a large car park, but it has multiple user types – general public, Millennium Point tenants, season ticket holders etc, each type with their own unique tariff structure and access rights. The Council also required a remote management capability at their central security hub. Securec’s Xparc system was chosen for its ability to meet all these requirements and more.

With our slimline paystations, we could install two per stairwell to reduce queuing at peak times. All system communications, including voice-over-IP intercom could be carried over the same Local Area Network which can be accessed remotely via secure broadband connection. This meant simpler and more cost-effective network installation.

The brand new sleek styling matches the modernist look of the car park and proves that car park equipment is no longer clunky and functional but a stylish compliment to the aesthetics of any project.

Capstan House, Canary Wharf

Capstan House is a prestige office development in East India Dock. The building is a multi-tenanted building run by management company EID ltd. Previously, the reception was open plan, and during peak times staff were struggling to keep track of personnel and visitor flows, with obvious implications for security in such a high profile location. Securec supplied and installed 2 lanes of glass Speedgates with 2 DDA pass gates in the reception area. The gates use a proximity card access control system based on a PC server and workstation at the main reception, controlling both entry and exit. The system was delivered to schedule and budget in cooperation with our access control partner, J Durrance Ltd.

Apartment Building gets Secure Car Park

A luxury apartment building in Peterborough was having problems with unauthorised access to its Resident's Car Park. Circle Residential Management asked us to assess the site. Securec discovered that the existing barrier was small and inappropriate for the entrance and was continually being forced or broken. We proposed a much more imposing LUX barrier with folding skirt and electro-magnetic tip lock. We also replaced the unreliable RF fob control with a simple codelock. Residents now feel their car park is far more secure.
